Unipile is a unified API for software publishers: a product connects its end users' own LinkedIn, WhatsApp, Instagram, Telegram, Gmail, Outlook and IMAP accounts and reads and sends from them through one schema (llms.txt). It is the agent-email story's opposite model. AgentMail gives an agent a new address. Unipile lets an agent act inside a human's existing accounts.
It is the player in this section closest to cold email. Unipile lists outreach products and AI agents as core use cases. It says plainly that LinkedIn, WhatsApp and Instagram are reached "by reverse engineering" on accounts the user connects, and that "customers stay responsible for the volume, content and targeting of what they send" (llms.txt, Oct 2026).
What it sells
| Channel | How it connects (company statement) |
|---|---|
| Gmail, Outlook, IMAP, Google/Outlook Calendar | Official provider APIs; one Gmail or Outlook connection counts as one account for email plus calendar |
| Telegram | Official API |
| LinkedIn, WhatsApp, Instagram | Reverse-engineered, on the user's own authenticated account |
| X, Messenger, SMS | Announced, not released |
It adds hosted authentication, webhooks, 100+ REST endpoints and an MCP server for Cursor, Claude Code, Codex and Gemini CLI (pricing page). It is SOC 2 certified, effective 19 October 2025.
How it prices
From unipile.com/pricing-api, as of October 2026, excluding VAT:
| Linked accounts | Price |
|---|---|
| Up to 10 | €49/month flat |
| 11–50 | €5.00 per account |
| 51–1,000 | €4.00 per account |
| 1,001–5,000 | €3.50 per account |
| 5,001+ | €3.00 per account |
Billing is post-paid on the peak number of simultaneously linked accounts, with a 7-day free trial. Unipile's own worked example prices 60 accounts at €4.50 each, which does not match its tier table; trust the table.
At these prices a cold-email platform whose users each connect 50 mailboxes would pay €150–250 per user per month in connector fees alone. That is why Build costs and team treats per-account APIs as the costliest way to build the mailbox layer.
Who uses it and why
CRMs, applicant tracking systems, sales-engagement tools and AI agents that need to work in "the user's real inbox rather than a separate one" (company description). LinkedIn automation is the draw: outreach products that want LinkedIn steps without building their own bot. Multichannel: LinkedIn, calls, SMS and video already recommends integrating such a connector rather than building one.
No customer list, revenue, headcount or funding for Unipile was found in this pass. Its founding year and ownership are unverified.
Where it is strong
- Channel breadth on one contract. Email, calendar and four messaging networks behind one schema and price.
- EU base. A French company, GDPR processor, SOC 2; it argues its design follows the Digital Markets Act's interoperability principles.
- Honest risk disclosure. It says which channels are unofficial and that it "does not publish an account-ban rate".
Where it is weak
- Platform risk. Reverse-engineered LinkedIn and WhatsApp access can break or get accounts restricted; Unipile relays provider limits but does not absorb the ban.
- Per-account cost at cold-email inbox counts.
- It is plumbing. It does no deliverability, warmup or compliance work; the customer owns all of that.
Trajectory
Unipile is repositioning from "LinkedIn API for SaaS" toward "communication API for AI agents", with an MCP server and agent use-case pages. In the agent-email map it covers the human-mailbox side, as Nylas connected accounts do, while adding the social channels Nylas lacks.
What this means for an entrant
- Buy LinkedIn access, do not build it. For multichannel steps, a connector like Unipile is faster than owning a LinkedIn bot (Multichannel: LinkedIn, calls, SMS and video, HeyReach).
- Do not run email through it. Per-account fees make it the wrong layer for 50-inbox cold-email customers; connect Gmail and Outlook directly (OAuth verification and the end of basic auth).
- Copy its candour. Saying which channels are unofficial and who bears the risk is a Trust as positioning move most outreach tools avoid.
- An EU agent stack exists. Unipile (connectors) plus an EU sending engine is a credible all-European answer for agent builders that care about data location (EU-native compliant outbound).
