Woodpecker's site is what a 2018 SaaS content strategy looks like in 2026: a big WordPress blog, a glossary, a template library, alternative pages and gated ebooks. Its machine-readable files are among the best in the market. Its search results are the weakest here. This matches the declining MRR in its public filings: content volume alone did not hold the line against Instantly.
Footprint
The crawler counted 415 URLs from the main sitemap index, which has 19 child sitemaps. It missed the blog. The blog is a separate WordPress install at /blog/ (WordPress 6.2.2 with WPML) with its own sitemap index, which robots.txt does not reference. That index holds about 1,118 more URLs.
| Section | URLs | What it is |
|---|---|---|
| /blog (separate sitemap) | ~1,118 | Cold email, follow-ups, deliverability; 670 last modified in 2025, 272 in 2026 |
| /glossary | 103 | "What is feedback loop?" |
| /templates | 93 | Follow-up and pitch templates, heavy on real estate |
| /integrations | 50 | One page per integration |
| /webinars | 32 | Recordings and forms |
| /landings | 20 | "lemlist alternative", "Snov.io alternative", "Klenty alternative" |
| /ebooks | 13 | Gated guides, including GDPR |
| /email-signature-generator | 7 | The only free-tool cluster |
| /cold-email-pl · /cold-email-es | 1 · 1 | Polish and Spanish landing pages |
The main site reports WordPress 6.1.1 in its generator tag. The blog's only hreflang pair is English and Polish (/blog/pl/).
What ranks
From Semrush's public overview for August 2026, a third-party estimate: 13.63K organic search visits (+1% month on month), against 13.34K paid search visits. Woodpecker buys about as much search traffic as it earns. Total visits were 128.64K (+15%), Authority Score 40 and referring domains 6.04K, the lowest in this group on every measure.
The traffic mix is the most European here: the US 30.7%, Poland 8.2% and Germany 5.7% (Bangladesh's 14.5% looks like panel noise again).
For comparison, Saleshandy gets about six times Woodpecker's organic traffic with a site of similar size. The gap is authority and freshness, not page count.
No query-level data. Whether Woodpecker still ranks for the follow-up and cold-email head terms its blog was built around is unverified (Semrush's keyword table is paywalled).
Programmatic and template plays
Glossary (103). Feedback loop runs about 530 words, with the boilerplate meta description "Check out what Feedback loop means in Woodpecker Glossary." The pages are short definitions, the kind AI Overviews now answer directly. See Glossaries, template and prompt libraries.
Templates (93). Expired listing follow-up is about 1,100 words. Its meta description has a typo ("expierd"). The real-estate skew suggests the library chases whatever query volume exists rather than Woodpecker's agency buyers.
Alternative landings (20). lemlist alternative runs about 700 words under the headline "You have more options than lemlist". There is also a /woodpecker-alternatives page that intercepts its own churn query. See Comparison and alternatives pages.
Free tools. Only an email-signature generator, set against Saleshandy's ~25 tools and Hunter's dozen. See Free tools as SEO and lead magnets.
AEO posture
Woodpecker does this better than most larger rivals:
- llms.txt (27.6 KB) is a structured fact file. It covers incorporation in Poland, the Wrocław headquarters, "Users: 13,000–15,000+", "GDPR: 100% compliant" (vendor-claimed), the product architecture, add-ons and a 20% lifetime recurring affiliate commission.
- pricing.md (10.8 KB) was last updated 9 July 2026 and covers USD plus 11 other currencies. It is the most thorough machine-readable pricing in the group.
- robots.txt blocks only
/wp-admin/and/prospects/, with no AI-bot rules. - JSON-LD is thin: WebSite, SearchAction and BreadcrumbList, but no Organization, Product or FAQPage on the homepage or pricing.
When an assistant is asked "is there a GDPR-compliant cold email tool from Europe?", Woodpecker has published exactly the facts it needs to be cited. Whether assistants actually cite it is not measured. See Who AI answer engines recommend.
Subdomains
There are 53 hosts in certificate logs and 15 live:
| Host | What it is |
|---|---|
| deliverability. / follow-up-guide. / follow-up-templates. / gdpr-ebook. / gdpr-workbook. / templates. | Legacy ebook microsites, all redirecting to /ebooks/* |
| camp.woodpecker.co | Cold Email Camp participant pack |
| prospects-web.woodpecker.co | "Join the waitlist: Woodpecker Prospects", a data product in waiting |
| rocket.wl.woodpecker.co | White-label login (agency panel) |
| help. / api. | Redirect into /help-center |
| *.open.woodpecker.co | Open-tracking hosts (404 at root) |
Folding the ebook subdomains into /ebooks/ was the right consolidation. See Subdomain strategy.
Off-site
- YouTube: the channel linked from woodpecker.co has 101K subscribers and 513 videos, the largest brand channel in this group. Its recent uploads showed roughly 90–420 views each on 5 October 2026. A large, mostly inactive subscriber base suggests growth from an earlier era or paid promotion (inference).
- Cold Email Camp: a cohort programme with its own subdomain.
- Affiliates: 20% lifetime recurring, per llms.txt.
- European positioning: a GDPR compliance page, a GDPR ebook, Polish incorporation and listing on NewConnect (Woodpecker), and Polish and Spanish landings. It is the only player here whose public story leads with EU data protection.
Weak spots
- The blog is hidden from robots.txt. A thousand posts in a second WordPress install with an unreferenced sitemap.
- Lowest authority in the group (AS 40, 6.04K referring domains) and flat organic traffic.
- Old WordPress versions on both installs (6.1.1 and 6.2.2, per their generator tags).
- Thin glossary and templates, with copy errors.
- No German content despite Germany being its fourth-largest country in Semrush's estimate. The European story is told in English and Polish only.
What this means for an entrant
- Woodpecker shows that GDPR positioning alone does not rank. It has the EU story and the AEO files, and still gets about 13.6K organic visits. The entrant needs the story plus substance: country-specific law content, German-language pages and data. See EU-native compliant outbound and Germany.
- German is open. Woodpecker, lemlist, Hunter and Clay all lack real German content. A DACH-first content set on UWG §7, Abmahnung risk and B2B consent faces almost no competition from sequencers.
- Copy the pricing.md and llms.txt structure. They are the best templates available, and machine-readable price transparency fits Transparent infrastructure.
- Woodpecker's agency panel users are reachable. They chose a European, GDPR-minded tool. "Woodpecker alternative for agencies" plus a The reply desk overlay pitch is a ready-made comparison target.
- Do not rebuild a 2018 content farm. A thousand generic posts on a low-authority domain bring in about 13K visits. Spend the same effort on 30 authoritative EU pages and a free legality checker.
